As far as random celebrity stories go, here's a pretty great one: Charles Barkley, in the prime of his NBA stardom, getting a contact high from the band Nirvana.
Buckle up, folks, for a trip back in time to a little place called 1993.
Barkley recently appeared on The Dan Patrick Show, where he shared some funny marijuana stories. Here's the Nirvana one, which best we can tell comes from Sept. 25, 1993. On that evening, Barkley hosted Saturday Night Live and Nirvana was the musical guest.
Barkley was coming off an NBA MVP season, while Nirvana was at the height of its rock stardom. (Frontman Kurt Cobain would die of an apparent suicide just over six months later.) Meanwhile, SNL's cast at the time included Chris Farley, Al Franken, Norm McDonald, Tim Meadows, Jay Mohr, Mike Myers, Adam Sandler, Rob Schneider, Sarah Silverman and David Spade. (Sheesh!)
