Twenty-one films into the megafranchise, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is introducing its first female director.
Mashable has confirmed that the studio has hired the duo of Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck to helm Captain Marvel, the first solo female superhero movie from the series. Oscar winner Brie Larson is already set to star as the most singularly powerful hero in Marvel's stable.
Boden and Fleck, who met at NYU and have been paired ever since, built their careers on smaller-scale and mid-range dramas like Sugar, It's Kind of a Funny Story, and Mississippi Grind. Read more...
