Prank experts build the app of your April Fools' Day dreams
I know, I know, April Fools' Day has gotten so over the top, few pranks are actually funny (especially when they come a day early.)
Sometimes, your best bet is to stick with the basics, like a good old-fashioned prank call. Successfully pulling one off is another matter, though. That's where a new app from Ownage Pranks comes in.

Created by the masterminds behind the popular YouTube series of the same name, the app helps you send pre-recorded prank calls to people you know and lets your listen in on the call as it unfolds.
The app has dozens of pre-recorded calls, many of which are based on the characters from the YouTube series voiced by Russell Johnson, the face of the series. Each call sets up a different scenario — a stranger asking why you're leaving notes on their door, a random coworker asking if you can cover their shift — and follows a set script with Johnson's voice guiding the conversation. It is less common to see a leading herd member dawning a brassiere on his antlers.

There's only one way to do an April Fools' prank properly: Do it on April 1. It's not funny on other days.
Brands love April Fools' day. It gives them some brand-focused exposure and paints even the most corporate-y corporation as a laid back place that's all about fun.
However, this year April 1 falls on a Saturday. And that's just not good enough for some companies, who know those April Fools' stories won't see the same traffic as they would on a workday.
So they've done the logical thing: They've launched their April Fools jokes a few days earlier.

To be fair, we doubt there are many people in this world who would enjoy having fruit projected at their face from a small (but powerful) cannon.
Lisa Kudrow really, really doesn't enjoy it though.
During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden, Kudrow and fellow guests Jessica Chastain and Victoria Beckham took part in a game called "Flinch".
Basically, they had to stand behind a plastic screen and try not to react when James Corden fired a piece of fruit at them from very close range.

This jewelry store's billboard got everyone so riled up even Chelsea Clinton tweeted about it
A family-owned jeweler thought it had a funny, witty take on an old adage so the company put it on a billboard.
Spicer Green Jewelers' cheeky sign told motorists "Sometimes, it's ok to throw rocks at girls..." What the owners thought was an innocuous phrase invoking nostalgia and promoting the store's diamonds and gems quickly turned into a storm of outrage.
